No, there is no such place as far away, we all sleep under the same moon on the same planet. We are all part of humanity, and we all have the same basic needs and wants. 

If you know that someone is moving overseas, and you want to give them something they can use, appreciate, and remember you by, you might want to look into getting them a MagicJack. It's a little device that plugs into the USB port on their computer and lets them call anywhere. I have one. I would advise anyone who is traveling from the USA to somewhere else to set it up BEFORE you go, not afterwards. I've used mine at internet cafes and at home on my own computer using my satellite modem. It's better at home, even though it can use up a lot of bandwidth. This is mainly because it is much quieter at home than it is in the typical internet cafe. They'll need a regular phone, though, to hook up to the other port on the MagicJack. I've used both corded sets and cordless phones. Both work great, but if using them in the inernet cafe, there might not be an outlet to plug the cordless phone in.


                                                                   


Another thing you might want to get them that they download onto their computer or laptop is a Kindle Reader for computers.  It's free, and there are so many free books on Amazon, it really is worth it. It can help them deal with being in another country where they might not know the language fluently. This might not seem like a big deal, but it can cut them off from venues such as TV and movies. Reading is a great activity, anyway, so you might want to get one for yourself, too.


So the Reader is free, and many books on practically every topic are free. Otheres are priced affordably and are very low in  price. Plus, I've noticed, most of the Classics are free.
